Rescued Pitty Puppy Needs Emergency Knee Surgery!
Donation protected
DOOM is a rescued American pitbull terrier. In his youth he was abused and used as a competitive fighting dog. This abuse left him with many scars, a broken front ulna, lamness in his front legs, hip displasia, and a completly shattared front paw that has since healed inncorectly. Due to these conditions he has developed arthritis in the injured paw. DOOM was turned over to an animal shelter and proceeded to spend the next year of his life in a cage. Doom was classified as aggressive and antisocial, and was not likely to trust or go home with anyone. During COVID my boyfriend and I adopted him. Within a short time it was clear to see that DOOM was simply a misunderstood Sweety with a good heart. Sadly, his past abuse still haunts him. DOOM has an untreated torn Cranal Cruciate Ligament (CCL) that requires surgery. This surgery will give DOOM the quality of life to be the energetic pit bull puppy that he is and will allow him chase all the tennis balls in the world (his favorite). We are kindly asking for any help to fund this surgey to give this sweet boy the life he always deserved. 100% of the donated funds will go towards his TPLO surgery. Tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) is an extensive knee joint stabilization surgery that typically ranges from $3500-$5500, and will stabilize the knee joint so that DOOM may run, play, and most importantly be PAIN FREE. He will need this surgery within the next 60 days in order to prevent further damage to the injured leg, and reduce the risk of his other leg suffering the same injury. Currently Doom is on indefinite kennel rest, is unable to walk, and is only permitted to get up to use the restroom. We want to extend a gracious thank you to anyone kind enough to help us give our Doom boy the life he deserves. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
