Rescue Animals-Second Chance Inc. of Lubbock, Texas, is a 501(c)(3) organization formed to promote animal welfare through rescue, permanent shelter, veterinary care, and rehabilitation of unwanted, neglected, abused, abandoned, and starving horses in the West Texas region. Your donation is tax-deductible.
We are the largest horse rescue sanctuary in the region with 60 horses who now have forever homes at our Double Nickel Ranch.
Immediate needs for funds include feed and hay costs, emergency veterinary care, utility costs for heaters that keep drinking water from icing over during the hard winter months, and funds to build more shelters for the horses.
Rescue Animals-Second Chance Inc. was founded in 2013 by Dr. Beth Nickels, a general and trauma surgeon in private practice in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Nickels has saved these 60 horses from starvation, neglect and abuse, and she has rescued most of these horses from a horrific and torturous death at kill pens in Mexico.
