Troop 1393 stolen Scout Trailer & Gear

Donation protected
Scout Troop 1393 had its trailer and contents of camping gear recently stolen. The 14-foot trailer was customized to store and carry the scout gear. It's a devastating loss, as its contents included a wide range of equipment — tents, tarps, camp stoves, propane tanks/hoses, lanterns, custom cooking boxes/gear/utensils, cast iron pans, dutch ovens, coolers, lanterns, first aid kit and much more. All were critical items for the monthly campouts for the scout-led troop.

Troop leaders are actively investigating replacement costs, but initial estimates will require around $12,500 to replace the trailer and equipment. All collected funds will go toward replacement of the trailer and equipment.

The troop currently serves over 50 scouts. The troop also supplies the trailer and equipment to Cub Pack 4393, which serves an additional 54 cub scouts for their outdoor activities and events. Programs are designed to combine adventure and fun with learning and leadership opportunities to develop character in these young scouts.

Beyond camping, the scouts are actively involved in the community, including multiple scout-organized and led community service projects every year. Since the troop’s inception in 2008, over 25 scouts have achieved the rank of Eagle.

The troop is sponsored by VFW, South Platte Memorial Post 7356. They open their facility to the scouts for weekly meetings and the trailer was stored on their grounds. The VFW Post, a not-for-profit organization, are spearheading replacement efforts.

Any donation amount would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support of our scouts!
