Help the FrOGS back on track after boiler funding

FrOGS have some BIG news! The pool will soon be back up and running and we'd like to let you all know how we've made this possible.

We had a regular FrOGS meeting last night and one of the items that had been requested for our agenda was "funding". Mrs Barrett explained that the school have done all they can to try and fix the on going issues with the pool but sadly there is no more that can be done without replacing the boiler.

The school was unable to fund this huge £8000 cost and there was no extra funding we could obtain from KWEST so they asked if FrOGS could donate the £5,000 shortfall.

Of course we were pretty blown away by that figure, we are a small charity and that is the contents of our bank account minus what we need in order to be able to put on carnival this year.

There was much discussion and the committee present at the meeting agreed that we would support the school with this in order to benefit all of the children at school. The pool is a wonderful asset for our children and something they get enjoyment and valuable learning experiences from. The pool is an asset to the local community also, with local schools bringing their children for lessons and local swimming clubs running evening and weekend lessons.  So many children in the community learn to swim here and we couldn't let that be lost.  So of course being able to help makes us happy.

However the decision was tinged with sadness. We have been working tirelessly with our fundraising efforts to save the huge sum that would be needed in order to make major improvements in the main school playground, which we all agree are much needed.

We are now back to square one on those plans so we are asking for your help. Do you know a local business that might be able to support us in some way? Do you work for a larger company that may have charity policies and be able to offer support? Do you have any ideas for new and exciting ways to raise money for our children? Any donation you can give, no matter how small, will help us because we desperately want to make the playground a fun and engaging space for the children as soon as possible.
