Replace Stolen Compost Trailer at URBAVORE

Hey fellow foodies and eco heads! My name is Cara and I'm a long-time supporter of URBAVORE Urban Farm and their City-wide Composting Program. I'm hoping we the people can help to keep this valuable community service running by raising money to replace the custom trailer that was stolen on Saturday night from the URBAVORE parking lot.  Brooke and Dan use minimal equipment on the farm but this trailer is a necessary accessory needed to turn our trash into the most nutritious food you can get your hands on!! Let's support these crazy farmers with our shared passion for supporting our environment and keeping the KC community green!

"Dearest Composters and Green-minded Kansas Citians-

I have some very sad news. The Compost Dump Trailer was stolen from our parking lot late Saturday evening. After 8 long years of providing this free service (and over 1 MILLION POUNDS of food-waste diverted from the landfill) we have no choice but to abort the program. I'd like to say something really awesome and special right now, but honestly I'M ANGRY(!!) and I'm still in shock. We've undergone and overcome so many challenges to get this program up and running and to sustain it for so many years. I'm feeling really heart-broken right now (especially when I consider all of the food that will end up in the trash due to this petty thievery). There is a teeny tiny chance that we will be able to open the program again in the future if time, funding, and resources allow us to do so.

Until then, thanks for many years of radical community composting. Thanks for making the world a little bit better...."
