The Guilford Amateur Society is a local amateur radio club,providing repeater equipment for local radio operators in Guilford and surrounding counties. Amateur radio operators are FCC licensed and trained operators who provide emergency communications during a time of disaster, assisting Emergency management groups along with other government agencies. The repeater is also a member of the Piedmont Coastal Repeater Network (PCRN.) Recently our tower-mounted equipment cabinet was breached and damaged and destroyed by water and wind. We are seeking to raise funds of $5,000 to replace the needed transmitter, receiver and state-wide linking system equipment. The Guilford Amateur Society is asking your assistance to replace vital communications for the Triad and central North Carolina. Your monetary contribution would be greatly appreciated.
