Repair home for my mom and siblings

Hi - thank you for taking the time to read this. I am creating this gofundme for my mom and siblings - especially for my two Down syndrome little brothers who need this the most. I am one of five kids to a very hard-working, giving and amazing single mom who is raising us alone. It is hard for me to write about what has happened to us but I want and need to do this for my family. This is our story.
Seven years ago my mom met a person at church who she eventually married. We all trusted and loved him and we were so excited that he accepted our little brothers with disabilities. We thought he loved us. Within the first few months, this person became physically, mentally and emotionally abusive towards my mom. He moved us away from our family and friends and began isolating my mom from her family and career. She protected us, supported him financially, and worked endlessly to provide for everyone in our family. Eventually she divorced him and fearlessly drove us across the country to start over. For anyone who has ever experienced the terror of domestic violence, you can understand how hard it is to get completely away. My mom put all of her money down towards buying a house that we could live in with the plan that she and my special needs brothers would make this house their forever home. We began to be hopeful! My mom changed her number, but this person still found us, begged my mom for forgiveness and promised one last time to change. This person is in construction and when he came to our house, he informed us the truss system under the house was damaged. He told my mom he wanted to fix it and we all trusted that he would. It is then that our nightmare really began. He had us move into two small rooms in the back of the house and he tore out the stair case to the bedrooms upstairs, all of the walls, and even the bathroom. He took out the electrical, the air and heat and floor. He left big holes open downstairs in the floor to the crawlspace and mold began to grow on the open floor, framework and ceiling. At this point, he told my mom he was the only one who could even fix the house because he said it would cost too much for her to ever pay anyone else. He refused to get a job because he said he wanted to fix the house. Even though my mom spent the very last of all her money to buy the supplies - he refused to rebuild much of anything. His abuse towards her returned, only worse, and he refused to leave. He became more violent and would break any work she could afford to pay to have done. He made holes in new drywall, dismantled air and heat vents that she paid to have put back in the house, broke doors and door frames, and disconnected her bathtub and even the dishwasher. He took out the vents from under the crawlspace and let stray cats climb under the house. She couldn’t leave the house, have friends, go to work or contact anyone without him knowing about it. Now, all of the money is completely gone and we have been living in two small rooms at the back of the house with no way to get anything fixed for almost 18 months. My mom bought many of the supplies to fix things but can’t rebuild the house by her herself. Estimates are between 100 - 130,000 thousand dollars to get things fixed correctly. This person literally destroyed our entire home and we have no way to fix it and no where to go. My little brothers are suffering the most - their forever home is destroyed, there is very little space for them to have any toys or to really play and they share a bed. My mom has a permanent protection from abuse order from this person and he can no longer come near us and he moved out of the state. We are trying to rebuild our lives but the purposeful destruction he caused has changed many aspects of our lives forever. We don’t have electricity in 3/4 of the house and we can’t turn on the air or heat in that part of the house because the duct work under the house isn’t finished and air and heat escape which makes the electric bill really high. Not only did this person gut our house, but he also gutted our lives. If you can contribute anything, even a single penny - it would help my mom more than anyone can ever understand. I really want to help her get our house fixed and alleviate the constant stress she is under worrying about what will happen to all of us if the house can’t get fixed. My entire life she has helped anyone she could and I don’t remember her ever asking for anything in return. She has dedicated her life to raising my little Down syndrome brothers and is trying to keeping us all together. She is the bravest person I know and the hardest worker I’ve ever met - I know that not even a single penny donated would be wasted. Please, if you can, please help us. Thank you again for taking the time to read our story.
