Rent assistance for Audreanna West &Eulogio Gomez
Spende geschützt
Like many people in our community, Audreanna and Eulogio and their 4 children are going through a difficult time. They have 3 boys (9, 2, and 1) and a 7 month old baby girl. Their struggles started when Audreanna had a medically complicated pregnancy that required 2 months of pre-partum hospitalization and a month in the NICU for baby, and bedrest for Audreanna. Eulogio lost his full-time job, because of the time he had to take off to care for his wife and babies. He was still working his side job as a diesel mechanic, but in March 2019, a week after bringing baby #3 home, his truck was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex. All of his tools were gone, and he was no longer able to work. They burned through their savings and retirement, but Eulogio was set to start CDL classes in March 2020. The pandemic hit and the classes were shut down, and now this family is struggling to stay in their home. They have only been able to make partial rent payments. Their apartment complex has been unwilling to work with them on a payment plan, and they received a 30-day eviction notice on July 27th. In order to get caught up on rent, they need to submit full payment of what is owed, which is $4653.
From Audreanna: "These two years have been our most blessed because we have all our beautiful children and our family is complete but has been the biggest struggle as well. Every month we worry about being homeless, and what we are going to do if we don't make rent etc. We never thought we would be in this situation, both working our entire lives, and both attending college. But life happens and sometimes you have to go through the bad times to get to the good."
They have reached out to a lot of nonprofits, rental assistance programs, and government agencies, but are waiting for calls back from several agencies. Hopefully they will be able to utilize some of these resources going forward, but in the meantime, many neighbors and community members have expressed a desire to help them out.Let's come together as a community and help this sweet family get back on their feet and get back to the good.
