Remembering Grace Lee Christian

I have been asked by Ashton to set up a memorial fund in honor of Grace. During her fight with a rare and aggressive cancer, they had many medical trips and racked up a lot of medical bills. Ashton is now left to cover these expenses on top of the funeral expenses. He has been reluctant to ask for help, but I reassured him that he has a community of people who want to help and support him in this challenging time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Following a valiant battle with cancer, Grace Lee Christian peacefully passed away on June 1 at her home, surrounded by friends and family, including her husband, Dr. Ashton Christian, a UCI Surgery resident physician. She has been a valued part of our UCI School of Medicine family and will be greatly missed. 
 
Her resident colleagues and friends described Grace as, “a beloved daughter, wife, friend and physician. Her contagious smile could light up a room and instantly made you feel at home in her presence. Grace loved to spend time outdoors hiking and visiting national parks; she had an eye for home décor and photography. Her colleagues admired her for her optimism, perseverance and unwavering determination. As an innate leader, she had the gift of bringing people together. Grace went through great lengths to serve her patients and those around her. Her deeply-rooted foundation in her faith was markedly evident, as she spread both strength and love throughout her journey. She embodied passion and great love for humanity. Words fail to truly describe what an incredible person she was. Her legacy and the memories she left behind will be cherished by all for a lifetime.”
