Hello and thank you for visiting this page. My name is Delorean Andrews, the Director and Founder of Release the Brakes, an organization I founded in May, 2014. I started this outreach program to mentor young men who have not had strong, or any male figures in their lives to guide and mentor them. We work with them to help them develop the skills to make positive life choices; make good educational decisions; socialize with their peers; foster healthy communication with their families and navigate through the everyday situations and challenges of growing up and becoming men. We do this by motivational speaking engagements and group activities with the young men throughout their community in which we engage with them and encourage them to participate and contribute. This organization works to help foster self-confidence, community activism and leadership among these young men. For now, our outreach is based in the Delaware and Philadelphia county areas and nearby out-of-state locales. My goal for this page is to raise funds for incentive awards, books, apparel for the youth and tickets to local sporting and cultural events to encourage and motivate the young men we encounter.
