Reinforcing Hope March

Join us in a march to raise awareness and raise funds in honour of Indigenous and Metis children who were victims of Canada's Residential Schools/Camps. In response to the recent discovery of the 215 murdered Indigenous children found at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School/Camp, Calgary iron workers and others will walk from Calgary to the Dunbow Residential School Gravesite, east of Okotoks.

We will meet at Quarry Park Coop for 7 am and walk to the St. Josephs (Dunbow) Industrial School Cemetery. We expect it will take 9-11 hours (41km).

Daniel (Dan) Boudreau is a Metis father of 3 from Saint Laurent, Manitoba. He currently resides in Calgary and is a dedicated iron worker for Union 725. His adopted brother, Stefan (Stef) Campbell is also an iron worker with Union 725 from Fort Alexander, Manitoba. Dan and Stef will complete the walk in full iron worker gear while carrying over 100 lbs of steel. They invite other Indigenous, Metis or non-Indigenous iron workers to join them in the march.

A GoFundMe site is set up for donations which will be used to provide brand new bikes to Indigenous children across southern Alberta. and half of the donations will go towards miskanawah organization
