Recovery Costs for Mom of Two Undergoing Brain Surgery

Hi there,

My name is Megan Schmidt. I am fundraising for the Jewell Family. Christine is undergoing brain surgery on December 20th. She has a cyst that is blocking her cerebrospinal fluid. Her wife Jamie is a nurse and they have two little girls. Christine will be hospitalized through Christmas time. She will be unable to work for at least six weeks and unable to drive for three months. You can imagine for a busy family that this recovery period will be emotionally and financially taxing for the Jewell Family. If you feel led to give please do so. Every little bit helps. Update

Christine is out of surgery. It took a bit longer than expected. Jamie says that she will be in the ICU several days until the ventricular drain comes out. If it can’t come out it will be a work up for a shunt. The Jewell family is really grateful for all of the support. Let’s keep working towards our 8k support goal. We’ve raised so much in two days. Christine’s recovery time will be a journey. The initial estimate for returning to work is 6 weeks to 3 months. And daycare costs for their family are 400 a week.
