Rebuild & Repair Anegada

Donation protected
Greetings,

As you might know, the destruction of Hurricane Irma, Jose and Maria have left the Caribbean islands in a humanitarian crisis. The Islanders have lost their homes, cars, belongings and some even their lives. This is truly heartbreaking and a big concern. At the moment, some islands in the British Virgin Islands territory are completely destroyed and people are left without clean water, food, medical aid, power, and phone connection or sufficient help from the government.

Anegada is a small island furthest out, Northeast, in the British Virgin Islands. The aid, supplies, and support that are sent to the BVI's, unfortunately, does not reach Anegada. In other words, this wonderful island and it's warm and hospitable community are basically completely neglected and forgotten about during this tragic times. There are approximately 300 residents on this island that completely make a living from charter yacht guests that visit the island. Restaurants, bars, gift shops, rental cars etc. are the main income on Anegada due to the nature of the land. Whilst most structures are destroyed, living conditions are impossible and there is basically no financial income. Every moment that goes by without help from the outside is resorting in a nightmare and for some even death.
The people of Anegada need our help right now!

As a former BVI resident, Yacht Captain & Scubadive Instructor, a current BVI business owner, carpenter, and a neighbor and friend of so many people affected by these tragic natural disasters, I can not just sit back and do nothing. I have put a very talented team together to go help rebuild and repair Anegada. A builder, carpenter, handyman and an architect. Chris Brock, Werner Piek, Reinier Botes and myself will depart to Anegada on Sunday the 29th of October, for a month.  We have put together 100 000lbs of building material, two of the largest containers available filled up completely and shipped it to the BVI's. We will start by rebuilding the most vulnerable peoples’ homes, then the restaurants and bars and lastly start cleaning up the pollution on and around Anegada.

At the moment we are funding a lot of the expenses of this mission, but it will be impossible without help in donations. As you can imagine there will be a lot of costs involved such as the travel expenses of this team to Anegada and back to the USA, accommodation, food, fuel, building supplies and equipment, tools and the transport of everything mentioned.

I hereby kindly and humbly ask for your help and support in our relief effort. Without donations, we won't be able to reach all the vulnerable people of Anegada and successfully complete our relief mission, as our own personal funds are drying up. This is not a support fund that you don't know where your money is going but instead, it goes directly to us that will be on the ground doing the hard work to help these people. I am personally paying the above mentioned, mission expenses, with the funds received. Please, any amount will help, big or small, even $20 is better than nothing. Every $20 is one more box of screws or nails or silicone... Also if you know of anybody that would be willing to donate a few dollars, please forward this message on. Your dollars will sincerely change the lives of many vulnerable Anegadians.

We thank you in advance, from the bottom of our hearts.

Kind Regards,
