At this very tough time for the island, we want to provide work to the Viequenses, and especially the young, and an opportunity to rebuild better.
Longer term we also want to preserve the long and great horse tradition of Vieques, notably with educational projects, for kids of the island.
Dennis Roman and his company Isla Nena Villa Management, a Viequense owned and operated company has worked on the design and will undertake the construction project at at limited cost. It is estimated that the project will take 5 weeks.
The raised funds will go directly to the following:
- An area to bathe and take care of the horses
- 11 stables (10x8)
- One area of 12x12 for care/nursery
- One storage area for food and material
- A waiting area for guests with a small bathroom.
The estimated cost would include:
- Concrete: 7000$
- Construction panels 2100$
- 2x4, 2x6, 4x4 panels 1800$
- Screws and anchorage 580$
- Zinc 4700$
- Bricks and blocks 3560$
- Deguer 600$
Material total =20340$
+ 5 weeks labor 8000$
Total cost = 30679$
We will keep you updated on the progress of the construction. Feel free to ask any questions.
Thank you very much for your help to young Viequense businesses, and the horses of Vieques !
