Realise My Dream of Studying Psychology at University

Hello everyone,

My name is Ellie Miller, and I have just accepted an unconditional offer to study Psychology at Aberystwyth University! This is a dream come true for me, and I am thrilled about the opportunity to pursue my passion for Psychology. However, I am facing significant financial obstacles that I need your support to overcome.

Coming from a low-income single parent family, financing my education has always been a daunting challenge. Despite my best efforts to secure bursaries and scholarships, I am currently unable to access any of the available financial support (factors include not living in Wales and being non Welsh speaking amongst other reasons).

My family are unable to contribute anything to my university course as my mother is unwell and we rely on the welfare system. My teachers, Mr Skyrme and Mrs Flanagan, have therefore suggested I put a request out to the Alumni to ask for support.

I would like to thank Elen for all her support in allowing me to visit the university over the Half Term break and am really looking forward to starting my course in Aberystwyth next term.

The funds raised will be used to cover my accommodation, textbooks and living expenses. Your support will enable me to focus on my studies and pursue my dream of becoming a Psychologist.
