Rathmullan to Buncrana Open Water Swim
Hi , my name is Martin Ward.
On Saturday 28th August 2021 Shane 0' Shea and me will be swimming from Rathmullan beach to Buncrana Pier to raise money for ARC Fitness.
ARC Fitness is a not for profit addiction recovery organisation that builds therapeutic environments for individuals recovering from substance misuse disorders enabling them focus on improving their mental and physical wellbeing through physical activity, professional support and re-connection with community.
The swim will form part of ARC's #noshame campaign 2021.
ARC has a longing to change the conversation that surrounds addiction. We want to challenge the existing stigma, shame, discrimination, and blame that can often stop someone suffering substance misuse from seeking the support that is available for them.
It is our aim that through ’No Shame’ we will humanise addiction, empower individuals on their journey to sobriety, and spread messages of hope to show that recovery is possible, one step at a time.
Your donations will help ARC continue to provide their much needed support within the community and reach more and more people who are directly and indirectly impacted by the negative effects of addiction.
