Our IVF Journey

Its going to be a long journey but its a journey Randy and I are willing to take.


Our story...

Randy and I have been together for 12 years and married for almost 7 years and from the beginning of our relationship, we knew that we want a family. After we were married in December 2009 we have tried for months with no success.During the first year of our marriage, we were under a lot of stress and we thought that was the factor and months became a 2 years and still we had no success. We decided that it was time to seek professional help. 

I was seen by my primary care and I mentioned to her our situation and she ordered tests and all came back normal for me. Then it was Randy's turn. We prayed for positive findings and didn't even consider any negative outcome. He was referred to a genetics specialists and the results took a month to get back and we both became worried. After a month long wait, we finally heard back from his doctor. 

Randy and I were not prepared for the news that we were about to be given. The doctors told us that Randy has a disorder that gives him an extra X chromosome which makes him XXY male. (Normal male is XY chromosome and normal female is XX chromosome) The syndrome is called Kleinfelters Syndrome and it's 1 out of 25,000 people are born this way without even knowing it. Kleinfelters can cause infertility and this is where our heartache began.

Infertility... Randy and I were in disbelief. We questioned God, questioned our marriage, questioned our future and how to overcome this but it was through our faith we are able to get through this difficult time because God is good.

We haven chosen our donor through the CCB (California Cryo Bank) and this could not have been possible if it was not for all of your kind donations this past year. Randy and I are so grateful and blessed. We have decided under go IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) for our second treatment and it is alot more expensive but we trust and believe that this is God's plan for us.

This is our story and we would love for everyone to join us in our journey to a family.
