Ramadan Ration Pack Appeal - Covid-19 Outbreak

Due to the Covid-19 Outbreak across the world many poor families have been affected the most,  especially in Azad and Jammu Kashmir. The government has announced a complete lockdown closing malls, public transport and public places. The is adversely affecting labourers, daily wage earnings, rickshaw workers and workers who have sell on the streets to feed their families. These workers will have no government benefits to rely on and have noother source of income available.
You may be aware that Ramadan is approaching and these families will need our help and support in these difficult times. 

Ramadan
During the month of Ramadan, Muslims will  not eat or drink during the hours of daylight. This is called fasting.
Muslims fast between dawn and sunset. Fasting allows Muslims to devote themselves to their faith. It is thought to teach self-discipline and reminds them of the suffering of those in need.

Ramadan remembers the month the Qur'an (the Muslim holy book) was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH )The actual night that the Qur'an was revealed is a night known as Lailut ul-Qadr ('The Night of Power').
In 2020 Ramadan will begin in the evening of Thursday 24 April and will end on Saturday 23 May.

We would like your help and support to join in helping us to provide the workers and their families with food for Ramadan.

My husband Muhammad Awais Khan is currently in Azad Kashmir and will personally distribute the Ration Packs to each family with the help of Moustafa Foundation who is a non profit organisation. Moustafa foundation has already raised £500 to support families affected by Covid-19.

We are aiming to help provide for 250 families with essential Food and hygiene items.

Each Ration Package will include the following items:

- 20 kg Atta (Flour)
- 3 kg Onions
- 3 kg Potatoes
- 5 kg Rice
- 2 kg Dal (Lentils)
- 5 kg Sugar
- 1  Pack Salt
- 2.5 kg of cooking oil
- .5 kg Tea
- 250 grm Masalas (Spices Turmeric & chilli powder )
- 2 kg Besan (Gram Flour)
- 2 Bottles of Rooh afzha (Essential Ramadan drink)
- Dates 2kg
- Hand Santizers and Dettol soap

Each Ration package will cost £20-25 or 4000-5000 rupees.
