Rallying for Tom: Help Us Bring Him Comfort & Care
Spende geschützt
If you know Tom Keegan—TK to his college friends—you know a man whose creativity, kindness, and humor have touched countless lives. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Tom since we both attended UCONN, where he studied theater and puppetry, filling every space he entered with laughter and imagination.
After college, Tom's creative spirit continued to shine. He worked as an animator on the beloved children’s series Blue’s Clues, bringing joy and wonder to an entire generation. His talents extended beyond the screen, as he also produced for Broadway and Off-Broadway.
But beyond his impressive career, what really defines Tom is his heart. He’s the person who shows up for his friends, who lifts people up when they need it most, and who makes every room feel warmer and kinder just by being in it.
Just over a month ago, my husband and I were celebrating Tom's and his partner Marc’s 15th anniversary—enjoying a night out like many others we have shared over the years. None of us could have imagined how quickly things would change.
Only four days after that celebration, Tom fell suddenly ill. He suffered two seizures on the way to the hospital, and after a series of tests, the diagnosis no one ever wants to hear arrived: stage 4 brain cancer. The tumor is inoperable. After weighing his options, Tom, Marc, and his family made the incredibly difficult but brave decision to forego aggressive treatment, choosing instead to focus on the time he has left—living fully, surrounded by the people he loves.
Right now, Tom needs to transition to a care facility. Sadly, the options covered by insurance are over an hour away, making it hard for Marc, friends, and family to visit often. We’re hoping to help offset the costs of a better facility—one that is closer to home, where Tom can be surrounded by friends and family, and spend his remaining time in comfort and peace.
Tom has given so much to so many—whether through his art, his generosity, or simply his ability to make people feel seen and cared for. Now it's our turn to show up for him.
Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward his care, giving him dignity, comfort, and the chance to be with the people who love him most.
Please help us reach our goal and give Tom the comfort and love he deserves. And please share this with anyone who knows Tom, or anyone who believes—as we do—that no one should face their final days without the people they love by their side.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
