A few days before Christmas, our 3-year-old niece, Joselyn had an anaplastic ependymoma cancerous brain tumor removed. The prognosis is uncertain, but we remain hopeful. She is now undergoing radiation therapy which requires my sister, Lynn to be there with her constantly. Lynn is the sole breadwinner and the head of the household. The financial stress is enormous. The terrifying possibility of the cancer growing and taking Jos's life is always present. We do not have any extended family to turn to for help. No grandparents, parents, aunts or uncles. My sister and Joselyn are bravely handling so much:

1. Navigating the medical process, specialists, insurance companies, etc.
2. Jos being sick and weakened by treatment requiring extra care, attention, and a special diet.
3. Facing massive medical bills while dealing with time off work/ lost wages.
