Hi everyone,

I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend, Rick Svennes. If you know Rick, you already know the kind of person he is — positive, kind, generous with his time and talents, and always the first to show up when someone else needs help. He’s a dedicated father, a loyal friend, a passionate coach, and he never misses a chance to crack a dad joke to make someone smile.

As many of you know, Rick was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer back in March. In true Rick fashion, he is facing this battle with a positive outlook, courage, humor, and an unwavering spirit. Recently Rick has experienced some weakness on his left side, making getting around more difficult. He will be heading to Mayo Clinic in Rochester for a new treatment that will hopefully help relieve some of his weakness/discomfort. In the mean time, the Svennes’ could use some help. So many of you have asked how you can help - here’s your chance! Financial assistance would help with the following:

• Medical expenses

• Travel to and from Mayo Clinic

• Lodging and related travel costs

• Loss of income

• Any additional out-of-pocket expenses that arise during his treatment or home care needed

Rick has poured so much of his heart into others — coaching, volunteering, helping friends and families in need — and now it’s our turn to support him.
