Hello All!!

I am trying to raise funds for my husband, Adam Moore's medical bills.

Back in November, my husband was diagnosed with a large tumor on his spinal cord, which has eaten away a portion of his vertebrae on his C4, C5, and C6. He has been in a hard neck brace ever since. This took us all by surprise!! It started off as stiffness in the neck area, to a constant dull pain, to a constant sharp pain. But Adam, being Adam, pushed through and just dealt with the pain. All because the doctors told him that it was just bone spurs, degenerative disc, and pulled muscles, telling him that there was not much they could do. Little did we know. Thank the Good Lord that his sister found a walk-in orthopedic clinic!!! After much urging and pushing, we were able to convince him that it was more than what the doctors were saying it was! He walked in on a Monday, received an X-ray, and they scheduled him for a CT on Thursday. By Friday morning, they called us and told us to go to Baptist Emergency Room immediately. We spent the next 8 days in the hospital. Multiple biopsies, blood draws, and CT scans/MRIs later, he finally found some relief for the first time in over a year. But all in God's timing. We are so grateful to have finally found out what was really going on with him.

We had insurance (that we pay for out of pocket $$$) for the initial hospitalization. However, the insurance company dropped us right toward the end of his 25 radiation treatments, giving us no reason. Radiation is not cheap!! $$$$ Not to mention the CT scans he has had and the MRIs. As it stands right now, he has a balance with Atrium Health that is roughly $50,000, and it continues to climb as bills continue to pour in.

For those of you who know Adam, you know his first love is the Lord, but his very close second is racing!!!

Prior to the diagnosis, he had been racing locally for the last 20+ years. He is most well known for his "junk car racing." He has truly mastered the Chain Race and Skid Plate Race. I am sure we have all enjoyed watching him race at the famous "Mad House" at Bowman Gray Stadium. I am praying that those who know and enjoy watching him race can chip in and help him by taking some of the stress off all of this as he continues to get treated for this tumor. We are all trying to avoid surgery at this point as this is such a dangerous place to operate. At this point, we are not sure if he will ever race again, but we are hopeful that he will once again be behind the driver's seat and doing what he loves!! This is a slow, ongoing process. Praise the Lord that we have insurance again and are able to use that going forward, but that does not help with the medical bills for the time period we were without. We are relying on God to provide, and if you are unable to help monetarily, we do ask for prayers for his recovery and thank each and every one of you that read this. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated and would mean so much!!!
