Warren Oakley Williamson memorial fund - QMC NICU

My beautiful nephew, Warren Oakley Williamson, was a miracle rainbow baby having been conceived just 1 month after a cancelled hysterectomy due to covid and rainbow baby to 8 lost pregnancies, he was born by an emergency C-section on November 14th 2020, 11 weeks early weighing just 2lb 3oz. For 10 days he fought as hard as his tiny body could fight, he was breathing on his own and looking to be home as early as Christmas, but on his 11th day of life tragedy struck and he became very poorly. At just 11 days old he was rushed down for emergency surgery due to contracting necrotising enterocolitis but unfortunately he didn’t recover from it and on November 26th 2020, at just 12 days old his tiny body gave up and he couldn’t fight any longer and we tragically lost him. As you can imagine my sister and her family are devastated, not only have they lost their little boy but they have to face Christmas with their other three children, trying to make it as normal as possible for them. We would also like to raise a little money for the neonatal intensive care unit, the nurses who were involved in helping Warren with his fight staying with him hours after their shifts had finished and missing breaks , they were not willing to give up on Warren whilst he was fighting so hard , I know this time of year is difficult for us all, but i’m asking if you could make a donation, no matter how big or small, to give something back in his memory to the nurses that fought so hard to save him so they have the funding needed to help other parents that find themselves in the same position. The neonatal intensive care unit offers rooms for the parents of critically ill babies, these rooms are filled with sanitary products, towels, bedding and much more which is provided with money from the doctors, nurses and the neonatal intensive care unit staff, they receive no funding from the NHS. These are amazing people who do an amazing job 365 days of the year and we hope we can give them something back to show them how appreciated they are.
