Raising money for Sobell House Hospice Charity
Spende geschützt
The West Hendred Home Educators Group are super proud to be the only home educators group supporting OxTrail 2024; with our very own ox in Oxfordshire’s first ever sculpture trail which will encourage thousands of residents to be tourists in their own city, and attract national and international visitors.
The trail will consist of 30 life-size ox sculptures painted by local artists, which will be herded into positions throughout Oxford, alongside our very own mini ox, expertly painted by the West Hendred Home Ed Group children!
OxTrail is raising money for Sobell House Hospice, a hospice based on the Churchill Hospital site and is part of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. They offer specialist palliative care to those facing life threatening illness, death and bereavement in Oxfordshire. This encompasses physical, psychological, social and spiritual care and includes supporting their families and those close to them. They care for around 3,000 patients and their families every year and need
- £351 a day just to cover the cost of food,
- £506.85 to cover fuel for a day, and
- £1027 to fund all their services for one hour.
All funds raised will be sent directly to the Sobell House Hospice Charity and we have until the end of July 2024 to raise as much as we can!! Keep an eye out for our fundraising activities on our facebook page West Hendred Home Ed.
The trail starts on 6th July, and will finish on 7th September. You can read more here: https://oxtrail2024.co.uk/
