JLL Bristol 10K and Half Marathon

On September 25th 2022 the JLL Bristol office will be taking part in the Great Bristol Run 10k and Half Marathon, on behalf of our nominated local Charity Gympanzees.

Gympanzees are a Bristol based charity who run pop-up play facilities (normally hiring out school halls) for young people with disabilities across Bristol during school holidays. These play facilities cater specifically for the needs of people aged 0-25 years with sensory, physical, learning difficulties, SEN and mild to profound disability. In the 58 days that the pop up facilities were open, 8000 visitors attended!

Alongside this, they are also fundraising to open a permanent leisure facility in Bristol, the first of its kind in the UK, which will be open 7 days a week and not only during school holidays. This facility will include a number of specialist facilities as detailed in the image below.

Did you know?

• There are 66,000 young people with disabilities within an hour of Bristol and over 1.1 million across the UK.

• 77% of children with disabilities do not have access to regular leisure facilities so cannot play, exercise or socialise in the same ways as their peers.

• This not only affects the children, but leaves whole families in isolation with 72% of parents suffering mental health issues as a result.
