Raelyn Bethany Wharton Fund

Raelyn Bethany Wharton was born April 24th at 11:54am. She was born at 26 weeks 5days gestational period (14 weeks early). She was only 722 grams upon arrival. Babies born before 32 weeks generally require respiratory support as their lungs are not fully developed. For little Raelyn her lungs were particularly under developed and due to the mechanical ventilation support she requires she has developed severe chronic lung disease(medically known as Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia or BPD for short). Raelyn is currently staying at McMaster Children's Hospital in the neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)with no current timeline for her going home(as of Sept 17, 2018) Cindy and Geoff are fortunate enough to have a room at the Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton. They both commute multiple times a week back and forth. While they have done OK financially the length of stay is starting to take it's emotional and financial toll on them. Your donation will go towards lessening any financial burden that may occur due to Cindy not working and Geoff losing considerable time at work. Any money raised that the family does not require or use will be directly donated to either the Ronald McDonald House of the NICU at McMaster to help purchase new equipment. (This GOFUNDME is targeting the Transcutaneous Monitor probe as it is something Raelyn most certainly has used extensively ).

UPDATE** Baby Rae passed Dec 18,2018. Please continue to support Cindy and Geoff as they have high costs to pay for now with the funeral and such.
