Rachel Wiesner’s Medical Fund

My name is Lauren Zamora. I am Rachel’s Aunt, sister to Chad Wiesner and Sister in law to Callie Wiesner. I have created this new GoFundMe account to help with additional medical expenses as my beautiful niece begins her journey fighting this horrible disease called cancer for a second time in her 4 years of life. That’s right, she’s 4 years old. No child should have to fight this disease ever and definitely not for a second time. First and foremost, we ask for 
your prayers. If you wish to donate and help with medical expenses, please click on the link and follow the instructions. Donations will go towards medical bills, hospital stays to include meals and parking as well as helping with any expenses at home to ease any financial stress. 

In the words of Rachel’s mom:
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It is also the day my baby had her port placed and will receive her first round of chemo to fight hepatoblastoma for the second time in her 4 years of life. A day in which she has already cried and begged me to go home and I’ve had to say “no.” A day where she has been in so much pain she needed morphine. A day where she has already been sick and she hasn’t even started chemo yet. A day where I’ve signed off on consent forms agreeing, once again, to infuse poison into my child that could cause severe side effects, even death.
It has been a hard year. If you’re like me, you might be feeling like you don’t have a whole lot left to give. And there are so many people who need our love and support right now. But please, pause for just a moment to think of these incredibly brave warriors going through horrible treatments just to survive. And remember that when 2020 comes to end, many of them will still be in the fight for their lives. They need us to be their voice. To raise awareness and the funding that leads to better, less horrific treatments. They are worth more than 4 percent. Hearing the words “your child has cancer” are devastating. So are the words “it’s back.” Because by then you know all about the impossible decisions you will have to make as a cancer parent. I’ve agreed to give my daughter poison because I want to see her start kindergarten, then middle school, then graduate high school. I want to see her grow up and get married and have children of her own. I want to see her laugh and run on the beach again and make a thousand memories with her brothers. She deserves that and so much more.
No child should have to go through this. No child should be forced to be this brave or strong. But my daughter is. And she will forever be my hero.
