A Helping Hand

My name is Aoife, and I'm 11 years old. Ever since I was little, I wanted to serve my country, and just the other day, I decided what I wanted to do to help. I was in NYC, and there was a man with really raggedy old clothes walking by. My mom and friends and I talked to him. He was really nice. He told funny jokes. But it made me sad. I asked my mom if she could give me some money to give to him. She said no, because we had already spent so much money. Then I remembered I had my purse with me. I took out my wallet, grabbed a ten dollar bill, and handed it to him. He appreciated it so much. He said "Oh! God Bless you!!! Thank you so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you sooo much." It made me feel so happy. Why I want to raise money is because I can use that money to buy blankets for the homeless, and save some lives. Help me collect the money, and fast. The quicker, the better. My goal is to get the 1,000 dollars before Christmas, so we can share the warmth of Christmas with people who have no home.
