"Ms. Scarborough's Friends"

My name is Veronica Scarborough but my students know me as Ms. Scarborough. I facilitate the Outreach program at Suitland High School called Ms. Scarborough’s Friends. Our mission is to develop and implement programs to empower, educate, and improve the quality of like for our students and families.

I started this program because I saw the need, I remember what it was like to struggle being a single parent. There were times when I had to choose between buying food and paying a bill.  It's a mother's worst fear not being able to feed her babies and my mother was my inspiration for starting this mission. 


I know the students in our school and I’m eager to support them in any way that I can. While we receive many wonderful donations from our community partners, we can never have enough support. The more supplies we can bring in and purchase, the more students we can help. The money raised on this campaign will go towards making sure our students have clothing, a warm coat, a meal or snack, school supplies and other small necessities they may need. 

I will remain dedicated to serving the students of Suitland High School that are less fortunate. I refer to the students that receive support from this program as “Ms. Scarborough’s Friends”

Students and parents have been very grateful and appreciative of this token of love from the Suitland High School Outreach Program.
