"Let Her Faith Be Greater Than Her Fear" - Melisa

Melisa is a patien'ts advocate for more than ten years as a medical assistant by improving patients life on a daily basis. She is a selfless and very caring person who deserves the love and caring ways that were given to all the people she encountered in her everyday life. This is the time to give back to her for her selfless act of kindness towards all the people that were awarded by her presence. "May her faith be greater than her fear".
On October 10, 2018, I found out that my big sister, Melisa, was diagnosed with breast cancer. This came as a total shock to our entire family and we are still learning more about her diagnosis and treatment plan. What we do know is that her prognosis is really positive and our family has no doubt she will come through this fight stronger than ever. With that said, the road ahead over the next few months will definitely be a challenge.
Melisa is scheduled to undergo 4 months of chemotherapy with a follow up reconstructive surgery and radiation later next year. The medical treatment plan for her cancer, which includes chemo, radiation or other medications, will be determined based on how well she is doing.
Because of this, she has been unable to work and will likely not be able to return until the Spring. Short term disability unfortunately does not provide full pay. Some of her medical expenses are not covered and with the everyday necessities of life.
Melisa is one of the strongest, most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love and support or the shirt off her back to anyone that needs it. So much so that she will be shaving her hair before her treatments begin so that she can donate it to someone else in need.
The emotional and financial burden of surviving breast cancer is a challenge for her, while she is not able to work and will need some help while caring for a 15 year daughter. For those of you who know her, you know that she is an extraordinary human being. She is cheerful, loving, and unbelievably strong and always puts her friends and family before herself. She is well deserved and needs our love and support now more than ever.
This is where you and this fund come in. The medical bills continue to add up and we are reaching out to our amazing and supportive network of family and friends to help, in any and every, shape or form. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be a huge help to Melisa during the next few months.
A few examples of what the funds raised through this site will be used for:
-Surgery and Reconstruction
-Medical treatment costs (chemo, radiation, other medications, as needed)
-Bills and expenses that will add up while Melisa is out of work
-Any other unanticipated costs that come along with this fight
Please also note that any funds collected that Melisa does not end up needing to cover the costs outlined above will be promptly donated to causes that help the other women and men bravely battling cancer
