Help a fellow hunter

A fellow hunter shot the biggest buck of his life with a crossbow.  He thought it was a legal harvest.  He tagged it with his  bow tag . DEC took his deer away and gave him 2 fines , for not using a "muzzloader privilege tag"  Most hunters we have spoke to have no idea what this tag is or have never purchased it.   Fines can total up to $3,000 in court.  Any crossbow hunters please look up this law about the muzzloader privilege tag so u won't have to go threw this.  Please, help a fellow hunter out with these fines and get other hunters aware of this crazy rule.
