Furlough - please help my family

Please help my family of five. My husband has been furloughed since the government shutdown began in December last year. He was our main source of income and now we have exhausted all our back up funds. You see, we never did have much - we were barely making it before the shutdown. It has been a very difficult past two years for us, with many illnesses and financial setbacks. I was diagnosed with cancer last year and will have surgery for removal on January 30th. We need money for the deductible. My four year old will need adenoid surgery soon after mine. We have already missed paying full rent for this month, but the next month is quickly approaching and I do not think our landlord will accept zero payment.

I have taken on extra assignments for work and have been on call for 13-14 hour shifts. I am trying desperately to keep food on the table and some utilities. I am failing. We are rapidly going under and I am scared for my children. They already have begun to have behavioral problems due to the stress they see and feel from their father and I. We are hopeful someone will read this and be able to help get us through this difficult time. We would be so grateful and our hope is to be able to pay it forward someday.
