Aid Needed for Post-Surgery Healing Journey

On Sunday evening, I started bleeding very heavily from my bottom. The bleeding progressed into Monday and was so severe that I was soaking through adult diapers and pants. I went to Indian Path hospital where I was admitted with GI bleeds. They transported me to Holston Valley via ambulance so I could be somewhere with a GI surgeon. After 2 CAT Scans and 3 X-rays, they discovered not only did I have 2 GI bleeds but a long section of my intestines had become paralyzed. They think it’s my crohns but it could be from my surgery on the 31st of may.

Since part of the intestine was dead, I was not able to move stool and it caused the bleeds. The fluid that had gathered in my abdomen was so high volume that it entered my lower lung lobes. I’ve been having around the clock antibiotics and labs to keep an eye on my blood cells and inflammation. Today, they performed surgery (4 days later and 5 days bleeding). They also removed all the free fluid and everything else in my GI tract.

I will remain in the hospital until I can first tolerate fluids and digest them without pain. Once I complete that step, I have to start eating solid soft foods. Once I can tolerate those and have a full bowel movement, I will be able to go home. They said today it would probably be Sunday but maybe Saturday of next week depending on how well I do. The pain has been super intense so I am very weak (also weak from not eating anything but water for 5 days).

Adam has had to miss work every day this week to make sure Gideon gets to school ok and care for him. Once I am discharged, I will be on a very strict diet that we cannot afford for a month. I am trying to raise money to cover Adam's missed work and to be able to buy the items I need for when I get home plus a couple of bills we will not be able to pay.
