Hope For The Homeless

During these troubled times there are more and more vulnerable people on the streets of our County. With unemployment on the rise, increasing poverty levels and Winter on its way we will no doubt see the deep impact that COVID 19 has had on the Homeless Community.
I recently wrote a Spoken Word Piece which celebrates the successes of Northamptonshire, but it also touches on the challenges and adversity's the County has overcome throughout the years. It describes how we pulled together and demonstrated a loyalty to our fellow Northamptonian in their time of need.

We are all experiencing difficult circumstances at the moment and many of us are worried for the welfare of our friends and family, but if you have warmth and shelter and if you are reading this on a full stomach then I'm appealing to you to find it in your heart to support our fundraising campaign.  A small contribution will help those struggling with Isolation, Poverty, Unemployment, Hunger and Mental Health Issues.
As we approach Christmas in the midst of a Pandemic, now is the time to show solidarity and togetherness.  I have previously reached out to our community to help us tackle Knife Crime on the Streets of our Towns and villages. Our appeal was met with a resounding response and we raised over £1500 which helped us deliver Knife Crime Awareness Courses to young people across the County and Further afield. We also teamed up with Northamptonshire Police and the County Council to deliver Music Courses for the Young People of Northamptonshire. Many of these Early intervention and Preventative initiatives have change the Lives of our Youngsters and provided them with the tools to affect change and improve their trajectory using Music as a universal language and a common ground

I wanted to share this with you in order that you can find reassurance and satisfied that your contribution is going to good use. You can read more about my Charity Work here:-

This time around I wanted to partner with Two established Charities that work tirelessly in and around our County to offer Care and Compassion to those in need

"The Northampton Hope Centre provides access to high quality, healthy food from our day services and food club, offered in a positive, fair and dignified manner to people in need. By doing so, they improve people’s health and wellbeing. It’s the simplest way to provide essential charitable services to people in need, but it is only the start. For us food is a way of driving change, for individuals, and our society."

"Hope is a community charity owned by local people, doing good things in Northampton for local people:

We provide practical services and things that help people survive poverty and homelessness
We help people to access training and skills to improve employability
We offer diversionary and fun activities and experiences to those on low incomes
We campaign against poverty and negative attitudes and poor treatment towards people on low incomes
We support migrants and refugees
We work to improve our community in partnership with community members"

We have also teamed up with the lovely Emma Lynham who has done amazing work in Northampton with Project 16:15. As part of the Team at 16:15 Emma has been involved in outreach work offering Care, Compassion, A listening ear and something as easy as a friendly smile and a Cup of Tea... regardless of a persons background, social status, gender or religious beliefs. Project 16:15 are form an integral part of the support system that operates on our streets 7 days a Week. during the Pandemic more people than before are "lost to isolation and loneliness, fear and depression, ending up in yet another life on the streets where abuse and drug dependancy can become the norm.

Your contribution will help towards services for people with acute needs such as food, showers clothing and advice on how to become independent and to achieve autonomy by HELPING OTHERS TO HELP THEMSELVES

Together we will raise further awareness and continue to campaign against Poverty.

I'm paraphrasing the legendary Nina Simone when I say that As a Spoken Word artist, I feel it is my partly my responsibility to reflect the times in which we live. I often write about Social Issues such as Mental Health, Politics, Relationships, Youth Reform and equality. I'd like to think that I use my platform as an established performer to position myself as a Voice for the Voiceless. It's about being able to articulate what many people want to say but may not necessarily know how to put their feelings into words.

50% of the Proceeds from my most recent track An Ode To The North Hamm Tune (A Tribute To Northampton)
will be donated to 16:15 and The Northampton Hope Centre   -    A Tribute To Northampton iTunes

Over the coming months I will create content & Videos that will helps  raise awareness for those experiencing adversity and hardship in the County of Northamptonshire and further afield.

I recently featured on BBC Look East to talk about the Work I am doing in the community and you can read a recent interview I did with Northants Live to learn more  Northants Live Interview with Charity Fundraiser Quinton Green

We are currently creating an online community and a place where we can update you regularly. Your donations are received with gratitude. We offer transparency and will demonstrate how the Funds are split between the Charities, the content production and most importantly... How your kind donations are put to use with those affected.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this. If this resonates with you, please share with like minded people.
