Funeral and Celebration of Life Expenses

Hi, my name is Christopher Saunders, and I'm looking to help my mum with some unexpected expenses.

Our dad, Len Saunders, unfortunately lost his battle last week, leaving a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who loved him. Dad was well-loved and heavily involved in umpiring Little League baseball. He was also a dedicated employee of the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club for over 40 years. He was admired by many and always made time to chat, making everyone feel welcome.

Over the past few years, our family faced multiple health issues that he experienced. It started with a stroke, which then led to dementia. Despite everything, he was always a fighter, never complained, and continued with his daily activities as best he could.

They had moved to Vernon, BC, where the progression of his condition caused significant mental, physical, and financial strain on my mum. He was eventually placed in a care home, leaving Mum alone to manage the household and medical expenses.

Last week, he experienced a medical emergency that left him in a coma. He was placed in palliative care, and we were informed that he would not wake up. We were able to see him and spend time with him, but we knew the outcome was not good.

Sadly, on Wednesday, August 28th, at approximately 9 p.m., he passed away with Mum by his side.

Mum is now faced with a plethora of expenses on top of her daily living costs, which she has been struggling to manage.

I'm hoping to find some assistance to relieve some of the burden on her, covering the costs of final arrangements and helping with her living expenses during this difficult time.
