At times it’s difficult to acccept the consequences of life. It is with extreme anguish and heavy heart Sindy and I (Richard) write to let family, friends and all who knew her. Our beloved angel Mindy Brooke Weimer passed away June 13th 2022 at 7:11pm. At 39 our beautiful, loving, and kind daughter was taken too soon. The surreal and unexpected nature of her passing, leaves many questions and even more broken hearts in its wake. One most critical is Mindy’s daughter, Brooklyn Jade 8 years old. She was the light of her life and the world around her. She will require all the love, care, and support we can give her.

As a single mom, Mindy’s dedication to her daughter was second to none. With both of them living with us, we appreciated their presents and all the hugs. Though being out of work two years was a constant worry. She was very excited about her future and what her new job would bring. The job required 90 days to qualify… She had only been working a week when she fell Ill.

Issues began June 5th, with a headache, June 6th progressed into flu symptoms, fever, and sever nausea. Throughout the day her mother monitored and gave care. The fever and nausea increase late into the evening. I arrived home from work around 10 PM, Mindy awoke to go to the bathroom and get a glass of water. Walking on her own, though with a little delirium. Her mother helped her to her room. I prepared a ziploc with ice to help the fever. Frequently, checking in on her she appeared restful. Upon checking again at 1:30a, I found her having a seizure. The paramedics were called. Stabilizing her, she appeared to be conscious as she was moved to the ambulance. Hoping she could hear us, we gave her our love.

8:30am, the day started with a call from the hospital asking us to come in. We learned she contracted aspiration pneumonia. Her body was stabilized through medication and full life support. The doctors gave solace and hope. The next day began with continued hope. Around noon, fear struck again. We received a call asking us to consider a DNR. While apprehensive, we consented to a modified DNR (not to resuscitate through CPR).

Hope was fading throughout the following days. With the grave nature of the doctors prognosis. The life Mindy and her daughter would have to live, would not be the one she would want. With her many family members present by her side. Our precious daughter was allowed to pass on in silent slumber.

Along with the emotional devastation her passing , brings financial burdens, including funeral costs and Brooklyn’s future needs. Our granddaughter will be the legacy we live for. Please donate and share the link… any amount will help.

Thank you for your blessings, condolence and consideration. Sindy and Richard Weimer
