There are some important Updates for Pudgy. The Vets diagnosed him with FIC (Feline Idiopathic Cystitis) and he has been on medication since the end of October. This illness has no known cause, although in some cases it's caused by stress. Pudgy is not stressed at all. In fact, he is the most chill and comfortable cat I have ever seen and even the Vets rule out stress. I did anything to make him more comfortable in our home. The vets didn't find any kind of obstructions like stones or similar in his urinary tract, but he is still, despite medications, unable to pass urine from time to time. His muscles around his urinary tract are cramping and have spasms which make him unable to pee. We had to go to vet 3 times in the last 3 weeks, two times in the same week (last week) to catheterize him under anesthesia to empty his bladder. A cat who cannot pass urine within 24-36 hours is in danger for their life as the urine can go back into the kidneys. Sadly there is no known cure. the only option is the euthanasia or a surgery called perineal urethrostomie (P.U. for short). Due to the nature of his blockage the vets don't know if it will help, but it is our only option to save him! the surgery is usually successful on cats who have stones or similar, but I have also heard of at least one case where this surgery saved a cat with the same issue as Pudgy.

The surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, 23. 12. 2025 and will cost at least an additional 3000 chf.

Due to my own chronic illness I am unable to work and I cannot afford to pay the bills to save Pudgy by myself.

Please help me to save my boys life. He already has been through so much, being a former stray cat from greece. He deserves a comfortable life.

Sadly my boy got diagnosed with Pseudomonas aeruginosa which is a multi resistant Bacteria in his Bladder / Urine. This makes it very hard for him to pee. He is on antibiotics right now. he was able to pee for a few days but sadly his health took a turn to the worse. He was unable to pee, so he has to stay at teh Vet Clinic once again.

If a cat cannot pee it can get very dangerous. The bladder is at high risk of ripping apart, which can potentially be deadly.

Because the Anti Biotics dont work, the Vets have to do further testing and have an Expert to look at him and discuss further steps.

today (31.10.25) I had an appointment with the Head of the Vetclinic (Tierklinik Mittelland, Oftringen) to discuss payment.

They cannot do the necessary testing until I am able to pay the open Bills, which currently are at 1800chf, but after the weekend, the Bills will be over 2000chf again.

The Vets told me that with all the necessary testing, the Bills will rise to between 5000chf -6000chf.

I am chronically ill and unable to work. I live from IV and EL, which covers rent and food. I am unable to cover all the vet bills sadly.
