On January 27th 2019 Shay was involved in a horrific car accident and has suffered multiple injuries that has resulted into her now being a paraplegic. For the past 2 months she has been at harbor view, with one month being in a coma. Shay is striving and working hard to regain movement through strenuous therapy daily. In the next few weeks Shay will be able to come home. The family has had to relocate to a new home that can accommodate for her wheelchair and care. She will require around the clock care, treatments and therapy which will be costly. A little bit about Shay who has been a part of the lakewood/ Arlington community being involved in cheer and academics that excelle well beyond the normal learning level. She was a few months away from entering med school and finishing PreMed at Everett Community Collage. She does plan on continuing her education while rehabbing at home. Many of us are very fortunate to be a part of her family and know her sweet infectious personality. You always know Shay by her cute smile.
