Hello all... My name is Emily and I am on a mission to creatively find funds to provide mental health therapy to those in need of mental health services. I own a private practice, High Alpine Holistic Healing, and I aim to offer holistic mental health care and healing services to those in need. Millions of Americans go without crucial mental health therapy every year due to a lack of insurance and accessible care. I am working to end this tragedy and I hope to make a small change in the massive problem that our society faces.
In summary, insurance tends to not cover mental health services in general, and our society often overlooks preventative measures of mental health and tries to intervene when it is already too late. After working 5 years in crisis services, I have finally seen enough and I feel the need to take action to help those in need. I am licensed in Colorado and can only provide services here at this time.
The problem lies in getting funding for mental health services. Most people are not insured, underinsured, or struggling to find funds to pay for therapy. In addition, mental wellness and health are severely overlooked in the United States. Day after day I saw patients who were suicidal, homicidal, and/or psychotic due to a lack of services and care.
Take a minute and think of your sibling, your son or daughter, your spouse, your colleague... anyone close to you who is struggling with mental health but cannot afford to pay for therapy.
The scholarship/hardship funds raised would be utilized to provide free therapy to those in need. I will accept referrals from healthcare providers and those in the community who know of those in need. Those who receive this free therapy would be people who are uninsured and/or are in financial hardship and cannot afford mental health counseling on their own. I will keep you all updated on how the funds are spent and how many people I am helping. I also work other jobs, so this would be supplemental to my other therapy and teaching jobs.
The funds would be used for administrative time and therapy hours. To provide some insight, providing therapy for one year weekly would cost approximately $5,000. For every $2,500, I can provide 6 months of free weekly therapy to someone in need.
Help me help our world and the future of our society. I am not sure if this will work, but it is worth the try as I am out of options. I appreciate your time and consideration. For more information, visit my website at
