Help us stop the County from turning Siesta Key into Miami!

In 2021, Sarasota County Commissioners voted to turn our laid-back island into an overly commercialized mega-hotel zone. This will overcrowd our roads and beaches!

We challenged this decision with the State and in Circuit Court. And WE WON round 1 of the legal challenges! On April 4th, the State ruled that our county's growth laws prohibit mega-sized hotels on our island. My legal fight is not yet finished! The County and developers plan to appeal the state's decision. And we still have a Circuit Court case challenging the county's approval of the mega-hotel buildings.

 

Siesta Key is a low lying barrier island off the coast of Sarasota, FL. The addition of hundreds of hotel rooms in high rise buildings will negatively impact our beautiful island.
