                                 Project Kuungana Tanzania

We, as the Project Kuungana team of 2015, are happy to announce that, as first followers of last year’s team, we are returning to Tanzania to follow up and strengthen the ties with the Tanzanian locals, especially the youth. Our primary objective, being to further establish our connections with Tanzania through partnering with local NGOs and volunteering, will further enable fruitful future relations and the possibility of an increase in Tanzanian students hopefully attending the United World Colleges.

What is Project Kuungana?

Project Kuungana is not only 2 unique and exciting volunteer weeks, it is a whole new adventure in regards to learning, sharing and connecting with the Tanzanian community; an adventure of learning from each other, as well as building and creating a spark, benefitting both the Tanzanian locals involved and us, six students from UWC Maastricht. UWC connections are key to spreading a higher class pre-university and valued education which will propel each of our mind-sets in a direction that will lead to a true understanding of a united and connected global community. We are aspiring to improve our connection and UWC ties in Tanzania therefore to see all benefitting from the prime UWC quality education of peace and a sustainable future. Project Kuungana will motivate us to sharpen our mentalities and gear them towards the future, our roles as youth in creating the future that we want to see, and it is through this mind-set that we will, in turn, develop our own lives, the lives of others, our own countries and eventually the world.

This is an opportunity to discover a new culture, a new perspective on the world as well as share our own vision in collaboration with the UWC ideals, of education, peace and a sustainable future. We as the Kuungana team aspire to unite and connect with the Tanzanian community and allow ourselves to be inspired by them, as well as, they by us during these two weeks. We strive towards the connection between UWC Maastricht and Tanzania as to help empower local projects and initiatives as well as, in return, enriching our experience and impacting our outlook for the rest of our lives. Furthermore, we are aspiring to have a higher number of UWC students from Tanzania so as to increase their participation in the UWC movement and lifestyle, whom in turn empowering them, Tanzania and the world.

By working in collaboration with local NGOs in Tanzania, we are not only able to connect, learn and spread our ideals but help with a much more hands on experience where we will not solely make a temporary impact in Tanzania but one that endures beyond differences and distances.

Please help the KUUNGANA realise this process of connection with Tanzania and donate as soon as possible since we need enough funds to garantee the trip. Thank you very much in advance.
