Haiti Campaign 2017
Hey, all! My name is Thien Dang, and I'm the lead minister at the Hanford church of Christ in Hanford, California. Below is a description of what my friend Roland and I are hoping to accomplish in Haiti, and why we are requesting funds.
Project Pure Religion
Roland Hendrix, a former Haitian orphan, suffered from a starvation many will never experience. After losing his parents and grandparents, and finally getting adopted by an American (Edwin Hendrix), he immediately displayed a strong desire to return and help his people.

He's made countless mission trips, finally leading to the genesis of this organization, Project Pure Religion. We are simply a few Christians responding to the Gospel by looking to care for the vulnerable and suffering in Haiti. Exacerbated by the earthquake of 2010, more Haitians are starving, suffering, and dying by the day; we hope to mitigate some of this starvation by supplying immediate needs (food, medicine, etc.), and teaching and establishing sustainable practices, accompanied with delivering a message of hope and eternal joy with Jesus. 
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." (James 1:27). 
What will we be doing?
Roland, Lee Dial (one of my elders), and Shelice Lennon (a member from church) will be taking a trip to Haiti this April of 2017. We will be on a team with a missionary organization called, Mission of Hope, to assist families who are still suffering from the destructive earthquake of 2010.
Additionally, Roland and I (and possibly Lee), will be leaving the group for a couple days to survey North Haiti. Although Project Pure Religion is still in its rudimentary stages, we will be looking to purchase government land to initially establish a feeding shelter. There are plans in the future to accomplish many things, e.g., teaching sustainable farming, improving education, etc; however, we are allowing God to lead us one step at a time.

Currently, Roland's sister is using donations she's received from us to feed multiple children from the street out of her own home.
Your donation will contribute to the immediate needs of starving and sick Haitians. We will use it to purchase food, clothing, medicine, toiletries, and other essential items the Haitian people will need. Every dollar helps! Please don't hesitate to donate, even if it's $5. A dollar goes a long way for the Haitian people!
