Hi, we are David Kahn and Claire Brown. As strong supporters of Principal Frank Chmiel, we are establishing this gofundme on Frank’s behalf to help him protect his legal rights and stellar educational reputation. We have two boys in the Princeton Regional Schools.
Frank was recently fired from his position as Principal of Princeton High School by Superintendent Carol Kelley on spurious grounds. Superintendent Kelley, judging by the enormous outpouring of public support for Principal Chmiel (including students, parents, teachers and community members) has lost the public’s trust. She and the board of education are not following the mandate of those they purport to serve.
Superintendent Kelley attempted to fire Frank last year but after a public outcry, Frank’s contract was renewed. Yet, despite Frank’s overwhelming support, popularity, and the academic excellence he inspires, Kelley has continued to come after him. She created a hostile work environment and generated pretextual negative evaluations leading to his abrupt dismissal late on a Friday, March 17, 2023. We note these evaluations did not follow state policy for which she must be called to account. In short, she holds great personal animus against Frank.
We may also ask an attorney to evaluate the prospects of a BOE recall, given they are seemingly tone deaf or simply choose to ignore key community input from stakeholders. They have blindly followed the Superintendent with no real consideration of the detrimental changes she wishes to make to our school district, most especially in her firing of Frank.
