Sausalito Praça de Cascais Fund

Tax deductible
Help fund the Praça de Cascais Improvement Project in the center of Sausalito that will include the 24 ft diameter Roas dos Ventos Calçadas gifted to City of Sausalito by its Sister City Cascais, Portugal.

Construction is scheduled to begin April 2,  with a formal dedication ceremony planned for June 13, 2018.
During May, an artisan from Cascais will be in Sausalito installing the calçadas daily using stones shipped from Portugal to Sausalito There will be a viewing area for interested people to observe the traditional hand method of shaping and constructing a true Portuguese calçadas!

The area where the new Praça de Cascais will be installed is one particularly rich in Portuguese history.  Directly across the street is the Victorian building built (and then rebuilt following the 1893 fire), by Manuel Barreiros.  To the south is the building still owned by the Silva family.  To the north was the Eagles Hall, a building owned by Adam "Marshall" (changed from Machado), and next to that, the Lisbon House hotel.

The Funding Campaign to complete the project is $100,000. Local business and citizens will be asked to donate. Thid Go Fund Me account provides a way for other interested parties to contribute.
