Custody Battle

As many of you probably know, I am the single mother of the little man pictured above. What many of you might not know is that following my split with his father, due to an incompetent attorney, I was forced to settle on a half-assed custody agreement.
I will be filing a petition with family court within the next couple of months (as soon as I have the funds), with the goal of revising and changing the terms of the current custody agreement, i.e.  physical custody, joint-legal custody, visitation, etc.
I was quoted legal & attorney fees of $6,000+ (that's if the other party-his father- doesn't put up much of a fight).
