Keanu’s ICU Care

After 10 years of trying to have a child, multiple IVF treatments and miscarriages we were blessed with 2 twin boys born via surrogacy on the 14th of this month.
The boys were delivered early as one was showing growth restriction. After so many years to finally become a mother felt surreal.
To all that had helped make it possible along with our amazing surrogate, Maria, we felt so very blessed.
The twins needed time in neonatal and due to Covid we were only able to see them for a few minutes post birth.
We were able to take Keanu home on the 18th and he was released showing all signs of being healthy.
Then a week later, we noticed a few changes in his behaviour but as first time parents we put it down to colic. When things did not resolve some hours later we were concerned enough to take him back to hospital. He has since been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bacterial meningitis which has spread to his brain. He is now in ICU and due to Covid we are not able to see him. His brother Bodhi is doing well and remains in neonatal but we have also not been able to see him at all other than those few minutes post birth.
As our surrogate is in Athens this is where we all are. After 10 years of fertility treatment our last savings went to the final try which led to the twins. We have just about enough funds to cover Bodhi’s neonatal but nothing for Keanu's treatment and ICU. It is not something health insurance will cover and thus we are having to pay out of pocket.
We are struggling to accepts and process that this is happening and feel so very helpless. We are doing our best to stay positive but from what research I’ve done it does not look good.
If anyone can offer us any financial assistance to help Keanu we would be so very grateful.
