Post Irma Relief for Virgin Gorda
As we all know, hurrican Irma devastated the Caribbean and Florida in September.
The British Virgin Islands (BVI), the place I called home for nine years of my childhood, was hit very hard and I am asking for your help to help our friends, who are like family, in Virgin Gorda (VG) - an 8.5 square mile island that was demolished by Irma.
The BVI is receiving some aid but it is not enough.
The money you give will be used for the following:
· Buy supplies – batteries, battery operated fans/radios, toiletries, canned and dry food
· Buy barrels
· Rent truck to transport barrels to shipping company
· Pay Tropical Shipping (a trustworthy shipping company) to transport barrels to VG
We can't help everyone, but we are communicating with our friends who are telling us what they need. The supermarkets don't have enough for everyone and supplies are very limited.
My goal is to raise money over the next week, and within two weeks, if not before, have barrels packed and sent to Tropical Shipping.
Here is a video that shows the state of VG post Irma:

Would you please consider giving to help these families start rebuilding their lives after this desaster?
Church on a hill, before Irma....
The people of VG have a long way to go before their home even resembles what it used to be, but with your help, they can get just one step closer to rebuilding.
