Pop Warner Mid America Nationals

WOULD YOU CONSIDER A DONATION TO MAKE A KID’S DREAM OF A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP COME TRUE?
On November 19th on a snowy, wind-swept Chicago Saturday, Pop Warner’s Lee’s Summit Broncos stormed into town and delivered a 24-0 blow to the Bolingbrook, Illinois Trojans sealing a victory in Pop Warner’s regional championship. Outsized and outweighed the Broncos played a gutsy, hardnosed brand of football allowing only two first downs and scoring four touchdowns behind a mixed attack. With what could only be described as a home field advantage the Trojans played hard and well, but could not withstand the relentless attack of the defense, the grinding assault of the offensive line and the athleticism of the backs and receivers on the Broncos.
Described by an opposing coach as the “Bad News Bears”, with borrowed pads, pants and pads the 17, 8th and 9th grade boys from the Lee’s Summit Broncos showed grit, determination and courage against a talented local Chicago team. The Bronco boys are made up of footballers from Lee’s Summit and Fort Osage. With a win, the Broncos qualify to compete for the National Championship at the ESPN Center in Orlando, Florida. The team is guaranteed two games, with the first being on December 3rd then a second on December 6th and the Championship on December 9th.
It costs approximately, $1,000 per child (not including parents) to compete in Pop Warner’s National Championship. That cost is primarily for entry fees and housing and doesn’t include transportation. The Bronco boys have worked hard to raise funds for the team by selling raffle tickets and coupon books. They and their parents are also looking for donation to help defray the costs of the trip. As you can understand, many (most) families have a challenge in coming up with $1,000, much less afford to accompany their child. Funds will go to defray the costs for the trip and help those families in need. Should you care to donate the donation is tax deductible.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a child and a great showcase for Kansas City area football. It is likely that the Lee’s Summit boys will be featured on ESPN 3. It is the dream of every athlete to compete at the highest level. These boys have proven they can. Will you consider helping?
