POP Tenn Inner City Youth Paint Ball League

The East Knoxville Community has been rocked by gun violence since January 1,2021. Almost daily someone is gunned down. In a months time- 5 students from the same High school were victims of gun violence.

POP Tenn - which stands for Protecting Our People is committed to offering support and innovative ways to STOP the
violence.
Currently, we are acting as safety patrols after school as our students walk home.  And have provided security for youth
lead events , marches and protest.

This summer we will sponsor fishing, hunting, and camping trips to build relationships with youth who are at very high risk of becoming a victim of violence or a
perpetrator of violence.

Also, we plan to sponsor the INNER CITY YOUTH SUMMER PAINT BALL LEAGUE.Since many of the youth we seek to serve- either live in fear of violence or glorify
guns and violence;  we aim  to teach gun
safety, state and local laws on carrying firearms and provide a safer environment
for them to confront their fears,  role
play, practice defense and learn what to do in the face of danger.

Ultimately, POP Tenn’s goal is to train
our youth to deal with and relieve  social
stesses while they run, jump and play!
