SPD Employees Lost Homes in Fires
Donation protected
Late Sunday night, and into the early morning hours of October 9th, 2017, thousands of people in Santa Rosa, as well surrounding areas, were forced to evacuate their homes due to the eminent threat of several large fires. High winds caused these fires to spread extremely quickly, causing large scale devastation.
Among those evacuated with their families, were several Sebastopol Police Department employees. Two of those employees, a Dispatcher and a Sergeant, quickly learned that their homes and all their belongings were completely destroyed by fire. The badge pictured on this page was the only recognizable item the Sergeant was able to locate at the site of his former home.
Each of these employees has provided exemplary service to the citizens of the City of Sebastopol for over ten years. Both have families.
The Sebastopol Police Officers Association is asking for help in raising money for these two employees, as well as any other Sebastopol Police employees who may yet lose their homes, as these fires are currently not contained. These donations will help with the many costs related to relocating, purchasing much needed everyday items, and anything else that may come up during this very difficult time.
100% of the money raised will be split equally between the police employees who lost their homes.
Below is a link to one of many videos showing what is left of the areas where these two good people lived.
